 Red maple - acer rubrum - A fairly rapid growing tree, Red Maple is a beautiful addition to the landscape.  Summer foliage is green.  Autumn brings outstanding shades of brilliant scarlet or yellow.  Height up to 50', spreading 35-40'.  Planting zones 3-7.

Sugar maple - acer saccharum - This beautiful shade tree is the largest and finest of native Maples.  Slow to medium in growth rate and very hardy.  Summer foliage is dark green.  Fall color is simply spectacular, ranging from rich, brilliant yellows to all shades of oranges and red.  Height is 50-75', spreading to 50'.  Planting zones 3-8

 

Serviceberry - amelanchier - This small, multi-stemmed tree blooms in early spring with white flower clusters, followed by edible, purplish-blue fruit later in the season.  This tree is perfect for naturalistic plantings, especially when mixed with evergreens to attract birds and wildlife all year round.  Summer foliage is green with the fall color of orange.  Height is 20-25', spreading to 15'.  Planting zone 4-9

 

Linden/Basswood - tilia cordata - A splendid plant for street and residential use, the Linden has glossy dark foliage and fraqrant pendulous flowers in early summer.  Virtually disease free and very adaptable, it does well in poor soil.  Summer is dark green and fall foliage is yellow.  Height is 35-45', spreading 30-35'.  Planting zone 3-7
